Traditional grey prediction models can not be applied to forecast grey number sequence. Therefore, in the case of
known whitenization weight function, by calculating the areas of middle layers and transitional layers of start/end point, and
middle layers median lines’ coordinates, an interval grey number sequence is converted into a real number sequence without
missing any information of the grey number. Then a novel grey prediction model for forecasting interval grey number is
proposed. An application analysis is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed model.
