The problem of delay-dependent robust fault-tolerant control for the thickness control system of strip mill is studied. The practical thickness control system of strip mill is a linear uncertainty time-delay system. The possible actuator gain faults are considered, and the sufficient conditions for the existence of delay-independent robust fault-tolerant controller are given by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and linear matrix inequality(LMI). Then the corresponding design methods of the controllers are proposed. The proposed controller not only enables the system to keep robust stabilization, but also achieves the given ??∞ performance. Finally, a simulation experiment shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
