This paper presents a particle swarm optimization-based extremum seeking control(PSOESC) scheme for the minimization of limit cycle. In the scheme, the PSO steers the parameter to minimize the limit cycle by the online measurement of oscillation aptitude. An algorithm that accelerates the convergence of the PSOESC scheme is also proposed. Numerical experiments show that, the proposed scheme is able to minimize the limit cycle with non-convex or non-smooth performance function, which is more effective and more robust than the conventional perturbation-based extremum seeking control algorithm.
