In airborne radar target tracking, the particle filter is one of the available tools to deal with the track breakages due to the blind Doppler. By modeling the relative movement between the platform and the target, and deducing the condition when the blind Doppler happenes, an improved particle filtering algorithm is proposed. With the maneuver detection, the algorithm can judge when the target is going to be in the blind Doppler zone. The target can be tracked uninterrupted by predicting the reappearance area of the target with the particles of blind. The simulation result shows the effectiveness and the feasibility of the algorithm.
